Wine Scholar Guild Wine Tours

UNIQUE EDUCATIONAL WINE TOURS FOR WINE PROFESSIONALS AND SERIOUS STUDENTS OF WINE!

Our amazing study trips offer intensive, professional-level educational wine tours within wine regions of France, Italy, and Spain. Led by top wine industry professionals, our itineraries take you into some of the best cellars and vineyards for hands-on learning and unparalleled tasting opportunities. What is a better way to connect theory than with practice!

The wine tours to Champagne, Bourgogne, Loire, and Bordeaux incorporate curriculum from the WSG Master-Level programs, allowing you to continue your studies in person in the wine region of study. This is a unique and powerful way to gain a thorough, working knowledge of the area.

For the last ten years, hundreds of participants, many repeat guests, have trusted Wine Scholar Travels to take them on wine tours that have given them core knowledge, insider views, and surreal perspectives of the wine world.

This was an outstanding presentation on the Rhone region. I left with a better understanding of the diverse terroir and will be able to articulate important facts about the area in a way that I could never explain by merely reading a book. Being there in

Five great reasons you should join our wine tours:

1. TASTINGS TAILORED FOR PROFESSIONALS

We do an extensive tasting on the study trips. You will sample allocated wines only poured at the winery, barrel samples, and tutored tastings with targeted, professional learning objectives.

Here are some examples from previous Wine Scholar Travels wine tours:

  • A Champagne producer in the Aube organized a tasting of the same base champagne with different dosage levels to demonstrate the sugar's effect on flavor.
  • A winemaker in Beaujolais poured wines from the ten crus alongside rock samples from the vineyards where the grapes were grown.

2. RETURN TO THE ROOTS

There is no doubt that the best way to understand wine or a wine region is to go there and immerse yourself in everything that makes it unique. This real hands-on experience is something you cannot obtain from books alone.

3. MEET THE WINEMAKERS

Meeting the winemakers is a real highlight for our wine tour participants. On previous wine trips, groups have met the winemakers at renowned estates such as Louis Roederer in Champagne, Chateau Cheval Blanc in Bordeaux, Clos de Tart in Burgundy, and Zind-Humbrecht in Alsace (among others). These are unique and enriching opportunities!

4. VISIT BOTH ICONIC AND UP-AND-COMING ESTATES

We visit long-established, well-known wineries and lesser-known, top-quality estates to allow you to see the icons and discover hidden gems and upcoming stars.
